Bring on the rain!

After ingesting what seems like a pound of dirt/dust over the last 2 weeks – I am grateful to see this gloomy, wet stuff finally! I’ve spent the last two weekends up at Sunpeaks trying to get back into the swing of things. I kinda took a little bit of a break over the hot-spell that we had a few weeks ago, lost a bit of momentum, but it seems that when the weather cools down...it’s game on once again! It’s definitely nice to have access to a higher altitude, cooler place to ride like Sunpeaks. I haven’t ridden it alot, so I am definitely finding new challenges every time I ride there – like remembering which jumps are short......and which ones are loooooong. Argh – I hate casing jumps. The ‘Yeah Bro’ bikercross race was such a fun event. I got first place in the open womens category (4 of us in total)– and what a sweet prize package that was! Race Face was VERY generous, to say the least. I also had a really good time at the High Roller event yesterday. Managed to squeeze in a few runs while helping out with the Bicycle Cafe tent – and also managed to hit some new jumps (new to me) and do some solo runs....dust-free! But I still think my favourite part of the weekend was watching Dylan ride down the sketchiest section of Honey Drop with his stomach on his seat! I guess that’s what happens when you can’t see the trail! Well, hope you all are having a good summer so far! Must go take advantage of the tackiness now........
